Ambassador Welcome at Trustee Reception

Recently, the WaveLength board and staff were extremely happy to be able to welcome one of our celebrity ambassadors, Miss UK Kirsty-Rose Heslewood, at a trustee reception.Chairman Steven meets Kirsty Heslewood

Trustee Tony Judd was able to book the Flyfishers Club in central London to greet Kirsty and let her find out more about our work. The event was also a great time to give our trustees a run-down on our research project with the University of York, finding out more about the needs of WaveLength’s current and future beneficiaries.

Kirsty has represented WaveLength online before, but this was the first time she met our CEO Tim, trustees and staff in person. She was fascinated to learn more about the different beneficiaries we help – from refugees in homelessness hostels discovering their new communities through watching TV, to isolated older ladies keeping in touch with distant family online.

Kirsty knows what it’s like to feel isolated and lonely – as a child, she suffered from selective mutism before becoming a beauty queen in adulthood!

We’re looking forward to working with Kirsty to make sure that more people know about WaveLength. Hopefully, her younger fans will help WaveLength continue for another generation.

Welcome Kirsty!
