Wavelength - The Television and Radio Charity

Our aim is to provide a radio or television for those at risk of isolation or loneliness and who are unable to afford a set for themselves.

Applications must be made using our dedicated application form and have to be made by a Referee on behalf of a potential beneficiary. Individuals cannot apply on behalf of themselves or a family member.

A Referee can be an individual not related to a potential beneficiary. They also may come from a recognised organisation, for example a charity or a recognised religious organisation. If you are uncertain please contact us. It is recommended that beneficiaries of the charity do not provide references for each other.

Applications must be signed.

We strongly recommend reading our guidance notes before making an application, making a careful note of the documents we request to process an application.

Television Licences

The charity does not provide licences unless the applicant is in receipt of or is applying for equipment from the charity. The charity expects the applicant to make provision for any subsequent licences.

Organisations

In some circumstances, WaveLength will look at supplying equipment to organisations. In applying, it must be demonstrated that the equipment will prevent isolation and loneliness and that the organisation does not have the financial means to purchase the equipment.

We recommend that all those making applications read our guidance notes carefully before completing the application form.
